After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Television in China, Mengyao moved to London to further her studies at London Film School where she discovered her primary passion towards editing. She edited three graduation films in three different languages and completed her MA in Filmmaking with distinction.

The three graduation films she edited, ‘Komşu Sesler’, ‘Rickshaw’ and ‘Scorched Earth’ have been screened at various international film festivals including In the Palace, Aesthetica and Locarno.

Since graduation, Mengyao freelances as an indie film editor and works at a post-production department of a TV company.
